Casita Miro Estate Chardonnay 2023 750ml

Casita Miro Chardonnay made from 100% Waiheke fruit. This is a classic Waiheke Chardonnay, which balances ripe stone fruit with fresh citrus notes and hints of brioche added to some sweet spice from ageing in French (Vicard) oak. This is the first vintage of our own Waiheke grown Chardonnay. Just one barrel made which will reward cellaring for a further 4 - 5 years.

An elegant, classical style of chardonnay with sleek oak lines and gentle saline minerality underpinning the energetic flavours of grapefruit, peach and olive. Well-balanced with driving acidity, cinnamon oak giving grip and texture and mid-weight fruit intensity which has notable persistence. The oak dominates slightly on the finish at present but it will come in line with another year or two in bottle. This will never be a blockbuster but there is mid-term potential here as it gains more nutty complexity and savoury breadth 93/100 22 Dec 2025
