Welcome to Ash Ridge

Ash Ridge Winery is a boutique, organic vineyard, cellar door, and kitchen based in the heart of Hawke’s Bay’s picturesque Bridge Pa Triangle.

We’re truly local, run from the ground up. Owner-operators Leith and Tracy Ashworth have their roots planted firmly in the region, living just around the corner in Maraekakaho with their three young children, Imogen, Max, and Elodie, and their world-famous Hawke’s Bay wine dog, Winston.

As a small family-run vineyard, our wine has taken its journey from grape to glass right here on our land. Every drop has been handcrafted with care by our small team on site, and we hope to surprise you with the large number of different, quality varieties we have available!

Ash Ridge Maximus Syrah 2016, Hawke’s Bay- Raymond Chan

Deep ruby-red with a slight garnet hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant and fragrant, with aromas of red berry, boysenberry and plum melded with red floral, dark herbs, spices and minerals. Full-bodied, aromas of red berry, boysenberry and plum adorned by violet, rose, dark herbs, cigar, dark minerals, spice and game. The wine is complex, with layers of flavours unveiled as it aerated, the red-fruited entry slow growing to an earthy, rich palate. Fine-grained tannins contribute to a firm yet velvety structure, reflecting dark minerals and lingering to a very long, satisfying, spiced finish. This enchanting Syrah shows complex layers with beautiful fragrant features, deep fruit, cedar and a well-structured tannin framework. Match with braised short ribs and venison over the next 8+ years. Fruit from own vineyards, co-fermented with 0.3% Viognier, aged 25 months in oak, 75% new oak. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) May 2023 RRP $100

Ash Ridge Elodie Sparkling Brut 2022- Raymond Chan

Bright, even, pale yellow. Vibrant and persistent bead. The nose is softly full, with aromas of apple, pear, tropical fruit and a hint of cream and blossom. Medium-light bodied, aromas of apple and pear melded with melon, cream and blossom. The fruit is lush and forward, with balanced acidity and a crisp finish. Serve as an aperitif or match with pork rillette over the next 2 years. 11.5% alc. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) May 2023 RRP $28

Ash Ridge Premium Riesling 2023- Cuisine Wine

A pale colour with an understated but lovely estery purity and lemon lime citrus aromas through the nose. Though still youthful, the palate is moderately weighted, fresh and bright with well-integrated acid and sweetness. Time should be good to this wine.
