Welcome to VILAURA Winery e-cellar door
Vilaura specialises exclusively in the production of Methode Traditionelle sparkling wines from New Zealand’s key growing regions. VILAURA was named through the joining of the two words “Villa” & “Aura” meaning the “House of Energy”
VILAURA is one of the very few to be a brand exclusively specialising in NZ Methode Traditionelle and is the first to produce single vineyard, single vintage Methode Traditionelle wines from all three of the major producing regions of NZ.
VILAURA's philosophy is to produce Methode Traditionelle wines that express the region in which they are grown - each region having its own unique terroir. Time is the greatest attribute to our house style and we will never compromise on giving each wine a full 36+ months on lees in bottle. Vilaura has been hand crafted throughout every step of the winemaking process. From hand harvesting of the grape bunches through to hand packaging and distribution
Reviews
Vilaura 2019 Hawke's Bay Blanc de Blanc
“Rich golden colour. Noticeable development here, rich aromas of buttered toast lead to a dry palate with lots of power, tight, focused acidity, long and savoury, mid-weight heritage apple flavours. A restrained and austere style with lots of complexity and depth, this has power and intensity which keeps coming back on the long spicy finish of ginger, licorice and cherry. Impressive, dry and serious stuff” 96/100 Stephen Wong - The Real Review
Vilaura 2020 Marlborough Blanc de Blanc
"This is reminiscent of a very fine blanc de blancs Champagne; it’s seductively expressed on the nose, showing crunchy apple, nectarine, lemon peel, almond meal, and brioche nuances, followed by a concentrated palate displaying brilliant focus combined with beautifully pitched acidity, finishing impressively long and engaging. Crisp-dry and mouth-watering with richly textured mouthfeel. At its best: now to 2033." 96/100 Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
Vilaura 2019 Hawke's Bay Blanc de Blanc
"Gorgeously complex and enticing, the bouquet shows golden apple, lemon zest, savoury pastry and white floral aromas, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate offering creamy texture and bright acidity. Splendidly proportioned and beautifully flowing to a persistent, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2030." 95/100 Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
