Huia Estate is a boutique winery located in the heart of Marlborough.
From the start, the Huia vineyards have been nurtured with an ever increasing emphasis on environmental sustainability. As the years have passed, the more evident it is that healthy clean vineyards are great places to live and work and produce more characterful wines. Every year they seem to just get better.
Huia is built on the belief that a natural approach to winemaking produces the best tasting wine. Our focus is to become more and more in tune with the total environment of the vineyards. Working in harmony with the entire countryside provides balance and longevity.
Sheep wander through the vines and chickens free roam to provide eggs. Bees pollinate the wildflowers that grow throughout the property and provide beautiful honey. Olive trees are planted on the borders and make delicious olive oil.
We offer a selection of vegan friendly wines including our renowned Blanc de Blanc and Brut Rose.

Huia Blanc de Blanc 2018 – 94 Points
Rich, creamy-textured Traditional Method sparkling with buttered toast, lemon curd, green apple, lime blossom and brioche flavours. Crisp, dry sparkler that combines freshness with maturity. Good now but should become more interesting with further bottle age. Bob Campbell, MW.
Huia Sauvignon Blanc 2023 – 95 Points
Complex and delicately perfumed aromas of white fruit, flowers and subtle minerality. The palate is driven with moderately intense flavours of ripe apple and grapefruit, a lightness of texture combined with mouthfilling weight. Zesty and bright on the finish, it has a sunny disposition and charm while remaining very refreshing. Stephen Wong, MW.
Huia Brut Rose 2019 – 93 Points
Made from 100% organic pinot noir. Barrel fermented. Bottle-aged on lees for 20 months. It's a rich, creamy wine with cherry, a hint of chocolate-box and bready yeast lees flavours with a tangy backbone of bright acidity. Bob Campbell, MW.
