Huia Estate is a boutique winery located in the heart of Marlborough.

From the start, the Huia vineyards have been nurtured with an ever increasing emphasis on environmental sustainability. As the years have passed, the more evident it is that healthy clean vineyards are great places to live and work and produce more characterful wines. Every year they seem to just get better.

Huia is built on the belief that a natural approach to winemaking produces the best tasting wine. Our focus is to become more and more in tune with the total environment of the vineyards. Working in harmony with the entire countryside provides balance and longevity.

Sheep wander through the vines and chickens free roam to provide eggs. Bees pollinate the wildflowers that grow throughout the property and provide beautiful honey. Olive trees are planted on the borders and make delicious olive oil.

We offer a selection of vegan friendly wines including our renowned Blanc de Blanc and Brut Rose.

Dry and satin smooth with a spicy balanced fruity core, refreshing and salivating finishing with the floral spice tones of Viognier. Well made and very tasty with best drinking from day of purchase through 2029.

Huia Pinot Gris 2024 – 93 Points

Delicious, bright, fresh, youthful and ready. Aromas and flavours of fresh brown pears and yellow apple, there’s a layer of white spice and honeysuckle, lees and florals. Youthful on the palate, dry with a decent squeeze from acidity and leesy spice highlights, a contrasting tickle of residual sweetness balances the palate and flavours immediately lengthening the impacts of structure and fruit flavours. Nicely framed and tasty with honeysuckle and core pomaceous fruit flavours.

Huia Sauvignon Blanc 2024 – 94 Points

Musky and complex perfume. A hint of flinty minerality gives way to lime leaf and floral tones. Impressively weighty fruit on the palate is expertly hemmed by chalky phenolics and a refreshing hint of pith. Complex, perfumed and stylishly long, this is a refined classic Marlborough sauvignon.
