Jackson Estate
Homestead Pinot Noir 2021 750ml
Concentrated aromas of dark red fruits dominate combined with undercurrents of spice, brambly red fruits and with a hint of pencil shavings. To taste, the flavour profile is loaded with dense red fruits and silky smooth tones. Tannins are soft and integrated with a supple mouth-feel leading to a classic Pinot Noir finish that is long and extremely moreish!
4.5 stars Matt Patterson-Green has created a pinot noir with serious personality, pluck and charm, and despite being a spring chicken, it's also showing some of the depth and seductive spice of a characterful cougar. The tannins are what get me though; they have delicate grip but lovely intensity. The acidity and textures are vibrant and alive, and the cranberry and cherry complexity make it amazing value for money.” - Yvonne Lorkin, The Herald
"Lovely pinosity on the nose with a core of dark plum and ripe cherry scents. Lots of depth on the palate." - Decanter world wine awards
A core of pinosity in the bouquet of dark red berry fruits, some plum and dark rose qualities then wood smoke and barrel spices of clove, cinnamon and cedar. Delicious on the palate with a taut youthful mouthfeel contrasting core of red berry flavours, roses and stony mineral qualities. Fine to moderate tannins deliver a chalk-like texture, acidity salivates and refreshes the palate and wood spices layer in foundation and breadth. Balanced and well made, still quite youthful with best drinking from late 2023 through 2030. 93 points - Excellent. - Cameron Douglas MS.
