Since our beginnings in 1994, Wither Hills has been home to a small team of committed winemakers who painstakingly labour over every wine from one vintage to the next. Having 3 decades of experience means we know the Marlborough area like an old friend, with its quirks and interesting habits, and we believe the best wines capture that character - a reflection of their source. For us, that includes the effect of our namesake Wither Hills ranges that border and protect our patch of earth, influencing our unique fusion of land, grapes, climate and the village of people who bring it all together. Add passion to the mix and you’ve got expressive wines New Zealanders know and trust to represent quality without pretence – Wither Hills.

Wither Hills Cellar Selection Pinot Gris 2020
Old Renwick Rd fruit. Has some old barrel spice scents, but still a core of fruit, varietal and fresh. 14% abv is noticed but this adds a nice weight and silkiness with a core of fruit surrounding with white fleshed orchard fruits, moments of citrus with a pith and peel layer. Nice back palate tension with balanced phenolics. There’s a residual sweetness tickle (4.1) which gives some weight, but the wine ultimately finishes dry. Well made.

Wither Hills Single Vineyard Rarangi Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Gooseberry and fresh green herbs, grapefruit and stones, golden kiwifruit and apple. Flavours on the palate reflect the bouquet with a fresh citrus and apple crunch, some tropical fruits and fresh green herbs. Youthful acid line and pure satin mouthfeel. A lovely wine ready to drink from purchase and through 2024.

Wither Hills Single Vineyard Benmorven Chardonnay 2020
A flinty, fresh and ripe complexity with aromas of sweet grapefruit and white peach, a wet stone and pebble minerality, vanilla and white smoke suggestions from oak. A silky cream texture, warming alcohol, medium acidity and weighty mouthfeel. Fruit flavours of white fleshed stone fruits, citrus and baking spices with a white smoke complexity. A lovely example that will age well with best drinking from today and through 2026.
