Welcome to Foxes Island
From the very first wine in 1992, Founder and Winemaker John Belsham believed in New Zealand’s ability to produce world-class, single-vineyard wines; wines that would sit on top of the world and champion excellence.
Classically trained in France, John was one of the first to craft single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in New Zealand. His training instilled in him the belief that the best wines are ageable and, when crafted with care, expertise, and time, they gradually unfold layers of mysterious, sensual delights.
Foxes Island is the only New Zealand winery to cellar-age all of its wines before release. Many of the wines are exclusively available from the winery or in fine restaurants
