Ayrburn
Pinot Noir 2022 750ml
Tasting Note:
Our 2018 Ayrburn Pinot Noir is quintessentially Central Otago, with black and red cherry evolvoing into tertiary savoury nuances of forest floor and mushroom. Time has softened the tannins so this wine is effortless drinking!
Vineyard Information:
Fruit for the 2018 Ayrburn Pinot Noir was sourced from the organically farmed Archangel Vineyard in the Queensberry subregion, nestled in the Cromwell Basin. A warm and dry microclimate gives an opulent dark-fruited aromatic profile alongside generous but ripe tannins. Complex soils of glacial origins are well suited to producing high quality Pinot Noir that is robust and age worthy.
Winemaking:
The fruit was hand-picked and carefully transported to the winery. A small whole-bunch portion was used to give aromatic lift and introduce more complex tannin to the wine. After fermentation, the wine was matured in French oak barriques (30% new) where it natural maloclactic fermentation int he warmer spring months.
Food Match:
Mushrooms will perfectlypair iwth the savoury notse of this wine so grill up some fungi and drink with some fun guys.
